Managing and securing remote Apple devices in any organization can be a challenging task. An increasingly mobile workforce demands an equally mobile device management solution. At Addigy, our goal is to empower Apple administrators to elevate their device ecosystem, keeping their end-users secure, prepared, and productive. We’re excited to share this update for our latest release that keeps that goal alive and well.
Remote Lock & Wipe
With today's mobile workforce and distributed office environment, the possibility of a device being lost or stolen continues to grow. In these instances, protecting sensitive company information is crucial. Today we are proud to announce that our platform now supports one of our most highly requested features, the remote locking and remote wiping of Apple devices. Existing Addigy users can immediately begin leveraging our remote locking and wiping capabilities to protect company assets and data, without limiting end-user productivity.
To begin using the remote locking feature, first ensure that the device has an existing MDM Profile installed. Once an MDM Profile has been installed on the machine, head to Devices -> Actions column and select the lock icon. Once you've selected the lock icon, you will be prompted to select either Lock Device or Erase Data. Select Lock Device, enter a 6-digit passcode that the end-user will need to unlock the device. The selected device is now locked and will require the 6-digit passcode to be unlocked.

The remote wipe feature follows a similar workflow. To wipe a device, head to Devices -> Actions column and select the lock icon. Once you've selected the lock icon, you will be prompted to select either Lock Device or Erase Data. Select Erase Data enter a 6-digit passcode. As a precaution, you will be prompted to type the device name exactly as it appears. Once approved, the selected device is wiped of its data. Be sure to use this feature with caution.
