At Addigy, your voice matters. That is why we took your feedback and are thrilled to announce our latest development: Custom Device Facts! With this feature, you can update and modify the processes you monitor across your Apple network in a myriad of ways.
What are Custom Device Facts?
Addigy supports a large array of default device facts which enable you to monitor things like disk usage, memory usage, IP addresses, macOS versions, FileVault, and Firewall status, and many other useful facts. Mac IT environments continuously evolve, and so do the details we need to monitor in order to keep our systems secure and performant. Custom Device Facts give you the power and flexibility to monitor just about anything your organization needs.
Security and Compliance
As Macs continue to inundate the market, we are seeing the rise of more macOS Vulnerabilities. Specifically, we are seeing vulnerabilities that allow for Denial of Service (DOS) attacks, third party code execution, bypassing of security features, and gaining of authorized privileges. As the threats surge, Addigy Custom Device Facts will allow you to monitor for these vulnerabilities and remediate them automatically.
Addigy already supports monitoring a predefined set of hardware facts on your Apple devices. With Custom Device Facts, you will now be able to get even more granular by enabling the ability to monitor things like fan speed, connected peripherals, and so much more.
As IT Administrators, we monitor hundreds of processes running on every machine; thousands across our network. Addigy Custom Device Facts allow you to surveil the long stream of processes across your environment and run commands based on those processes.
If you find a process that shouldn’t be allowed on your network, you can easily detect and spin down that process. If you want a process to always be running, you can enforce that, as well.
After a Custom Device Fact is created, the next step is to add automated remediation. If Addigy detects a device is out of compliance with security standards, Addigy can be configured to automatically run remediation commands to fix the machine or even quarantine the device off the network. With the addition of Custom Device Facts, Addigy allows for a seamless workflow for monitoring, alerting, and remediating issues on your assets.
